This is the part where I’m no longer a Miss

As promised, I’m here to talk about the wedding once and for all. After all, this blog once gravitated around the wedding preparations (or the lack of it) and what a bad story would it be if it didnt come out with an end to all the build ups.

Here we go. Nikah

The solemnization was held at my parents’ on Saturday 16th of July 2011. Mr Husband refuses to wear a wedding ring so I got him a wedding watch instead. I, on the other hand, cant wait to wear the ring I chose. Yes, romance was not involved in that Big Ring Hunt 2011. I knew what I want at that time and so was he. His side of family came in yellow while mine welcomed them in pink/grey. Things were all good and dandy and by the end of it, I cant barely open my eyes because I was overwhelmed and super tired. It was perfect.

Wedding 1My reception was held the day after (Sunday 17th July 2011) and it was in a garden close to where I used to grow up during my childhood surrounded by big lake and big trees. Due to budget constrain, it was a very small reception of just closest family and friends. Foot cramps came after everyone left. I was told that the food was awesome. Too bad I didnt get the chance to enjoy it though.

wedding2His reception was a week after, on 23rd at his family’s home (Where I am currently living in) This time around, the concept was more traditional and crowds were bigger. No foot cramps and I get to enjoy the food. Lucky.

So that was it. My wedding. Summed up in 216 words. It was awesome and it turned out just as I imagined it to be. Best of all, the three beautiful occasions were singlehandedly planned by both mothers, mine and his. Which made it even more special. Thank you, moms.

As a cherry on top, Alhamdullillah, I am married to my bestfriend of 8 years and counting.

The end.

Right now..

It seems like we’re experiencing an early monsoon at this part of town. Or is it the monsoon was never really over to begin with? We were greeted by thunderstorms and heavy rains almost everyday. Too bad though to those who made plans with the white sandy beaches. Apparrently it’s not going to happen for another 3 more weeks at least as what I was being told. But that doesnt really effects me except for the crazy traffics I have to brave through every evening. I’m saving all my leaves for July and September. Yeah, the reasons are obvious.

Oh talking about it..(in no particular order)

– I am currently on low-carb-no-rice diet and so far I have lost 2 kgs within 5 days and another 1kgs after day number 7th.

– I’m adding a small invite card and a thank you note the size of a business card that we can easily ordered at any local printing shop for both my solemnization ceremony and the garden reception. The design are based on a standard template of the original invite card that we pre-ordered from a printing company in Jalan Pudu (Kuala Lumpur). I feel bad not designing my own wedding card, so I made it up by making these extra stationaries.

– Yes, I’m doing a garden reception and a very small one with a very limited number of people. But here, limited means not more than a thousand. Mine is a quater of that.

– More DIY. More papers. But this time, I use the newspapers which I stained it in pink and purple, made into roses, hot-glued it on white-painted tree branches and I’m loving how it turns out. 😀

– Pimples. I have two zits the size of europe on my face. The Oxy Extra Strong Pimple cream and Clarins Blemish Control are my bestfriends for now.

– Tell me how am I to stay calm? How?

Oh no

I’ve turned this space into a dedication for all things wedding. But that is all I have in my mind right now – wedding, work, and more of those pretty flowers, swing bands (no, I’m going to have any swing band for my reception) and colourful dresses. Oh yes, this comes from a girl who doesnt enjoy going to a wedding and always finds big fancy weddings are completely redundant. But right here, right now, you bear witness that this girl – the girl who always find ways dodging the wedding bullets from the Queen Bee – is now singing a different tune.

Oh well, I can’t discuss much about work because first, it’ll breeched my contract for discussing the confidentiality of the office to public and plus, even thinking about work is already boring, so why bother discussing about it.

So I’ll be back with more updates and will all be about my wedding!

XOXO, Little Miss Bridezilla.

The very first

-7 years ago he messaged me on the messenger asking if I’m free to “chill” with him. Chill. That was his exact word. He’s cool that way.

– I told him I feel like watching a movie. Hahahaha because I can tell that he’s trying to woo me (I’m so old, I used the word “woo”) and he mentioned about it being his treats. It was definitely an apportunity not to be missed. I thought “Wow free movie and a possible free meal!” So I said YES! with a big grin.

-The movie was The 50 First Date by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. I loved it and he told me that he likes it too. Yes, he is so cool.

– It turns out that from that day, it was the start of our very own version of firsts too.

– Today, will be the last anniversary for both of us as separate entities and come July, everything will be back to square one. Well, Hello square one!

Happy 7th anniversary to us. May there be many more  firsts, millions of love, hugs and kisses. *raises glass*

Right now…

-Hundred of things have been ticked off from the list but there are a million more waiting in line.

-Colors and theme has been chosen and my mind is overloading with all things pink, purple and grey.

-Since I have always been interested with paper crafts, it is only right to incorperate some DIY projects into the wedding. So using the youtube and the search engine to a good use, I’m getting the hang of paper folding, hot glue-ing and colors dipping.  I think by the time the wedding is over, I’ll be an expert at DIY projects. Especially those that involve papers (Duh)

-My weekends are filled with appointments with the wedding designers and the caterers, wedding material hunting, hantaran gifts scouting and many wedding related projects.

-And as usual, my life is revolving around checklists, budgets and more checklists.

-3 months to go. Eeep!

Until the next bullet points update, much love and hugs.

Of a pact and three engagements

According to them, I was the drip that creates the ripple effect. Well, this is not really the case of a wonder. Because I know that first, we are already in the right age and mind for marriage. Plus, 10 years ago, I made them promised not to get married before I did and they happily agreed to the arrangement. In a way, it has become a self-fullfilling prophecy.. like or not hehehehe.

And so, to date, three very loud girls (including me) has now officially donning the ring around their ringers, marking the symbol of commitment. My congrats are to the lucky lads who managed to score these superwomen. (Yes, I’m super too. Super happy)

Now ladies, on to the next step – planning for the big day. Good luck, girls
