Rear-viewing 2016

Happy New Year!

It’s that time of the year where I’ll pay a visit to my dear ol’ blog to see what’s up and dig all the past posts I did for the past year only to realized…. Yes, I’m well aware that it’s already the 11th day of the brand new year and I only got 2 posts for last year. I’m such a bad blog owner. At least for year 2015, I did manage to badly blogged more than 2 posts (yeah! a whopping 3 entries!). Hahahaha So I guess this year wont be much different and “blogging more” definitely wont be part of this year’s resolution.

So, how was my 2016? Art wise.

I have to honestly (and shamefully) admit it…. I let art play a very little (almost none) role last year. I tried to pick up once or twice, but I just gave up half way. The beginning of 2016 was when I finally decided to focus on my career and I did. I guess Mr Coelho got it right when he said “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it” because I did get a raise (wanted to move on so bad from where I was that I was wiling to jump to a new career path and start over). Talked to the boss and was ready to tender in my resignation, but he counter offered me with a new position and that became a conforming matter that brought me to new single direction for my career. It made me decide what I’m going to do in the next 10 years. A “career goal” if I have to name it. So yeah, art wont be part of my big career plan and I decided it last year as much as I thought I have the passion and talent for it. But then again, as per the very beginning of why I started this blog, it is to record my ever changing mind. So we’ll see, I might change it again half way through my “goal”. Maybe I’ll achieve it in less than 10 years or I might get bored. So we shall see. OK, I’m rambling and don’t make that much sense and this will definitely not translating into an interesting reading material. Moving on..

Back to my art. I guess it will still be my driving point to blog. I could write about my baby girl but it will be bias where all entries will be about how great, beautiful, intelligent and wonderful my girl is. I don’t want to go there. But what I can do is share the most current picture of her…. but my Instagram is flooded by her pictures and only her with the occasional appearance of le mari et moi. So… nahhhh. What I’m going to do to kick-start my blog for this year is to share my digital art. I did make some when le mari chéri bought me a Wacom Intuous.

Wacom Product/Advertising Photography

I, of course, start dabbling into it right away and I drew baby girl and her cousins. But that was it. I forgotten all about it and moved on with my life.

So here’s hoping I can dwell more into digital art this year? Maybe.

Selamat Tahun Baru!

**This is not an interesting reading material. hahahaha never intended it to be one pon**

I showed you the process of me drawing this like a week ago here? Remember?  Anyway, it’s already open for pre orders on Arttee Apparels’ website  and will be ready for shipment by end of this month.

You can read all about Arttee Apparels’ new collection on their blog and those going for Urbanscapes 2014 festival on this coming December will get to enjoy something from Arttee Apparels if you purchase one of their new designs now and present yourself wearing it at their booth during the festival. Go read all about it on their blog or check out their facebook page.

Art on a tee

I had this post on hold for more than a week (no, 2 weeks) and I just couldn’t bring myself to blog a proper entry. Blogging and writing are not something that come naturally for me and I’m OK with it. I have come to accept that I am far better at complaining about my days to the Dear Darling (he showers me with hugs and foods after) rather than sitting on my ass (that is currently and steadily growing at a very alarming rate) trying to conjure up some sort of a magical super power in producing awesome readable contents regularly. I have also accepted that it’s OK if I don’t lay out all my milestones and thoughts out in the open. Because… (fun fact!) I’m not that interesting to begin with. (Me..humble? Pfftt Oh please. I’m awesome but I’m a realist)

But this time, it’s different. It needs a shout out. It needs a big hurrah. Why? Because I’m super proud of it. I’m super excited about the idea of it and the thought of not sharing it just wont cut it for me. And because it deserves all the marketing mileage it can get and I’m almost 2 months wayyyyy too late. Lets just forget about the fact that blogging about this on my very quiet blog wont makes much difference for its online presence.

So, let me introduce you to Arttee Apparels.

Arttee_FINAL_LOGOWe had the idea for quite some time. He (and by he, I mean the Dear Darling) had the idea and I’m just the enabler. Of course when I said I’m enabling this dream of his means that I let him do this full time by making this transition easy (right, hun?) and without throwing a fit knowing that we need to cut back on our expenses until the business really takes off to a height where I can comfortably start requesting for ridiculous shoes and handbags again.  (Psstt Baby, I really really want this Ju.Ju.Be’s diaper bag, pleaseee)

So we set off with this idea of promoting struggling, independent artists (much like I am) on a platform that we know everyone can be comfortable with. So we chose T-shirts. Because what better way to show your appreciation to an artist’s work than wearing it? There are many actually. This is one of the economical and affordable ways to do it without you considering a career path in bank robbing or selling your precious kidney to the blackmarket. The concept is pretty much like Threadless and DesignByHumans in the United State, but we decided to forego the voting system and put our trust in hired professionals to be the judges for the submitted designs before we printed them for sales. We believe that this way, every artist/designer will get a fair chance on getting his/her artwork printed provided the final artwork is good.

Arttee Apparels went online on the first September of 2014 for the first time and within 3 weeks since the kick off, its facebook page has already gained more than 10,000 supporters. It is such an amazing feeling seeing the number goes up and the phone notification beeps non-stop. I never had that, so excuse me for being a little over the moon. I was amazed by how well people accepted our idea and believe in our cause. Prior to the website being launched, we had to approached our designer friends to contribute some artworks and even I contributed some. But now, artworks keep coming in from as far as Russia and Colombia!! (Yeah.. I have to put exclamation marks to that statement because I’m still in awe)

With the amount of supports and blessings we got from family, friends, new acquaintances, local art groups and publications from local and international alike, I’m hopeful that this going to work out just fine. Well, it better be!

Anyway, to record this promising venture, we started a blog about what’s going on with our little start-up <here>.

So.. please buy my artwork because I’ll get commission on every t-shirt sold and I don’t know about you, I could use the money for that Ju.Ju.Be’s BFF diaper bag in case the Hubster decides to ignore my request. I go by Queen Bee and here’s my first artwork that got printed. Yeah! Even I had to go through the judging process. No favoritism, he said. Pfft.

We turn 2

anny

It has been 731 days since this day. That’s 2 journeys around the sun and I couldn’t be more happier today than I was 2 years ago (Oh wait.. actually I am much happier now).

He’s awesome. My best friend, my happy pill, my comfort zone but at the same time, my nemesis. He supports but challenges me at the same time. He is like my super villain to my super power. Oh how I thank God I said yes to him. We had awesome adventures together and I’m looking forward for more adventures to come.

This time around I only made him a card since we have celebrated our anniversary early in Bali last June, but Mr Super Sweet surprised me with a bouquet of roses sent to my office today. *Grins* I’m smitten.

Thank you, baby. I love you.

Now I cant wait to get home.

This is the part where I’m no longer a Miss

As promised, I’m here to talk about the wedding once and for all. After all, this blog once gravitated around the wedding preparations (or the lack of it) and what a bad story would it be if it didnt come out with an end to all the build ups.

Here we go. Nikah

The solemnization was held at my parents’ on Saturday 16th of July 2011. Mr Husband refuses to wear a wedding ring so I got him a wedding watch instead. I, on the other hand, cant wait to wear the ring I chose. Yes, romance was not involved in that Big Ring Hunt 2011. I knew what I want at that time and so was he. His side of family came in yellow while mine welcomed them in pink/grey. Things were all good and dandy and by the end of it, I cant barely open my eyes because I was overwhelmed and super tired. It was perfect.

Wedding 1My reception was held the day after (Sunday 17th July 2011) and it was in a garden close to where I used to grow up during my childhood surrounded by big lake and big trees. Due to budget constrain, it was a very small reception of just closest family and friends. Foot cramps came after everyone left. I was told that the food was awesome. Too bad I didnt get the chance to enjoy it though.

wedding2His reception was a week after, on 23rd at his family’s home (Where I am currently living in) This time around, the concept was more traditional and crowds were bigger. No foot cramps and I get to enjoy the food. Lucky.

So that was it. My wedding. Summed up in 216 words. It was awesome and it turned out just as I imagined it to be. Best of all, the three beautiful occasions were singlehandedly planned by both mothers, mine and his. Which made it even more special. Thank you, moms.

As a cherry on top, Alhamdullillah, I am married to my bestfriend of 8 years and counting.

The end.

The very first

-7 years ago he messaged me on the messenger asking if I’m free to “chill” with him. Chill. That was his exact word. He’s cool that way.

– I told him I feel like watching a movie. Hahahaha because I can tell that he’s trying to woo me (I’m so old, I used the word “woo”) and he mentioned about it being his treats. It was definitely an apportunity not to be missed. I thought “Wow free movie and a possible free meal!” So I said YES! with a big grin.

-The movie was The 50 First Date by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. I loved it and he told me that he likes it too. Yes, he is so cool.

– It turns out that from that day, it was the start of our very own version of firsts too.

– Today, will be the last anniversary for both of us as separate entities and come July, everything will be back to square one. Well, Hello square one!

Happy 7th anniversary to us. May there be many more  firsts, millions of love, hugs and kisses. *raises glass*

Of a pact and three engagements

According to them, I was the drip that creates the ripple effect. Well, this is not really the case of a wonder. Because I know that first, we are already in the right age and mind for marriage. Plus, 10 years ago, I made them promised not to get married before I did and they happily agreed to the arrangement. In a way, it has become a self-fullfilling prophecy.. like or not hehehehe.

And so, to date, three very loud girls (including me) has now officially donning the ring around their ringers, marking the symbol of commitment. My congrats are to the lucky lads who managed to score these superwomen. (Yes, I’m super too. Super happy)

Now ladies, on to the next step – planning for the big day. Good luck, girls
